    The Associate Art Director supports the Art Director in creating captivating visuals for The Kit which strengthen the brand’s visual identity and deepen our brand’s storytelling.



    • Design the weekly The Kit newspaper section
    • Design for other The Kit platforms as needed, including for digital and social
    • Manage print production, which includes completing clipping paths, colour correcting images, and sending files to the printer
    • Organize and be on set for some off and on-figure photography
    • Assist with planning for fashion and beauty shoots
    • Occasionally oversee creative special projects
    • Coordinate and oversee some freelance deadlines and scheduling within the art department
    • Liaise with Production Manager on behalf of art department
    • Train interns
    • Uphold the quality, values and characteristics of The Kit brand 



    • Post-secondary degree in Graphic Arts & Design or a related field or equivalent work experience
    • Minimum three years of work experience in a professional publishing design environment
    • Excellent design, layout and typography skills
    • Strong fashion and beauty retouching skills
    • Still life photography experience (on-set on-figure experience is also an asset)
    • Strong knowledge of print production processes and needs
    • Expert knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Excellent communication and time management skills
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, creative environment
