Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director, Logistics and Distribution will be a business minded, strategic leader who will lead the management of district business optimization and delivery service activities executed by the Logistics Team and Independent Distribution Vendors


    As A Member Of Our HIGH PERFORMANCE Team You Will:

    • Recruit, manage and provide coaching and leadership to a District Logistics Management team
    • Establish and manage operational efficiency and cost effective contractual relationships with Independent District Vendors to deliver product(s) on a daily basis across the Province of Ontario
    • Ensure contractually bound performance indicators (KPI and OPI) are achieved by the Independent District Vendors on a daily basis across the Province of Ontario
    • Implement strategies for efficient methods of achieving operational metrics to drive continuous delivery improvement with focus on follow through and execution
    • Analyze and interpret internal and external data points and identify improvement opportunities/corrective action
    • Liaise with other departments and Vendor locations and depot sites to establish an effective partnership and understanding of the depot to door supply chain.
    • Effectively manage and monitor service performance of the Logistics Management team and their ability to manage the distribution contracts
    • Oversee the logistics team in the development and execution of plans to remedy and provide corrective actions ensuring customer delivery experience is reliable and delivered on a consistent basis
    • Illustrate a keen understanding of effective optimization of process
    • Ensure timely and complete optimization of the depot to door delivery process improving the customer delivery experience
    • Liaison with Leadership team members on key activities related to growth opportunities
    • Lead continuous improvement through a proactive approach ensuring the customer delivery experience is executed consistently
    • Develop and ensure timely execution of well-coordinated plans for continuous customer delivery improvement activities


    Why You Will Be Successful:

    • Graduate and/or Postgraduate level with a focus on business and/or supply chain management
    • Candidates should be experienced in logistics, distribution, customer client relations, courier, warehousing and transportation logistics
    • Highly self-motivated, pro-active individual with hands on experience managing multi-client needs in a time sensitive environment, driven by continuous improvement
    • Takes ownership and responsibility of situations
    • Proven senior management experience
    • Solutions oriented with keen understanding of dock to door process and workflow management
    • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment
    • Highly organized, working well and effectively under pressure while ensuring that customer centric tenant is uncompromising
    • Well-developed change management skills are necessary
    • Excellent communication, problem solving, computer, and people management skills
    • Ability to multitask and operate within a 24x7 operation
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Proven problem-solving and decision making skills, attention to detail and accuracy
    • Proven ability to manage and prioritize complex and concurrent initiatives adapting to changing priorities to meet fixed schedules
    • Ability to hold others accountable for their actions through a keen understanding of both team management and contract management techniques
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision and exercise sound independent judgment
    • Some travel required within the GTA – 20%
